Snatch Thief...

I am having my lunch 'oversea' yesterday to have curry fish head and clay pot rice at Chai Leng Park and happen to see some chinese writing on the wall in red font on most of the pole of the shop. Out of curiocity, i take a closer look and found out it is a warning message for ladies who carry hand bags. It warn the ladies to be extra careful with motorcyclist who might turn out to be snatch thief.



I think there should be cases happen before at this shop. So I also warn my friends to be extra careful. There are lots of similiar cases happen around the town. Some of the victims face serious injuries and some even died on the spot. What had happened to our country?

I am so fructrated and angry when reading news about this. No wonder there was snatch thief beaten until admit to hospital due to kidney failure when get caught by the public. Details news...

I did a quick search on the phrase "snatch theif" under some serach engine and found some interesting explanation from wikipedia. I felt ashame on what is written there about my country eventhough they are telling the truth...

In Malaysia and Southeast Asia in general, snatch theft is a criminal act of forcefully stealing from a pedestrian's person while employing rob-and-run tactics. It is typical for two thieves to work together and ride a motorcycle to make theft and escape easier. A person steers the vehicle while another does the act of theft itself. However, some snatch thieves work alone or do not use a motorcycle to rob.

A growing problem in Malaysia, some instances of snatch theft have caused fatalities through subsequent acts of violence. This, combined with the apparent lack of police control over crime, has prompted outrage among its citizens enough to take justice into their own hands in apprehending thieves.
